Adult Applicants
A Supportive Environment for Adult Education
Many adults are striving to balance work and family with school, while others have not yet found the time to re-enter or even begin college. To meet these special requirements, Dover provides an environment that is sensitive to and supportive of adult students.
Credit for Prior Learning
Many adults have aquired learning outside the classroom. In some cases, that learning is college level and can earn credit. Dover Business College will assess documented articulated college-level learning, including knowledge, skills, and competencies aquired from work and experience; will validate the learning; and may award credit.
The Academic Department will advise students, review the possibilities for credit recognition, and determine the best method for assessment. Credit is transcribed as CP and is not part of the GPA calculation.
Admission Procedures
Adult students who have previously attended another college, business school, or medical school should follow the procedures for Transfer Applicants.
Adults who are first-time college students must submit the following information to be considered for admission:
- An Application for Admission and a non-refundable $25 application fee
