The Computer Applications program provides students interested in a short-term retraining program with the computer skills necessary to re-enter the job market. The program includes training in spreadsheets, database, word processing, business graphics, and software integration as well as courses in Business Communication and Professional Career Development.

Partial Listing of Courses

Computer Fundamentals Provides students with computer fundamentals and knowledge of the Windows platform, email, and the Internet. Focuses on hands-on instruction in Microsoft Word, including the creation of business documents, tables, mail merge, and web features.

Spreadsheets and Database Applications Using such software as Excel and Access, students learn the basic and intermediate functions of spreadsheets as well as the fundamentals of database management.

Business Graphics and Software Integration Students learn to prepare business presentations using a software package such as Microsoft Power Point and to effectively integrate graphics, spreadsheets, word processing and database management applications.

Business Communication Students examine the management, technical, and business communication dynamics of the office. Topics include effectiveness of electronic communication, principles of effective business writing, and problem-solving strategies.
